ONE | August: Southern Idaho Photographer
I'm still on one of those natural highs, one that came from spending two nights backpacking way up in the Sawtooth mountains with a great group of people.  Wow.  Just wow.  I'm still picking my jaw up from off the floor.  "Is nature really that incredible that it would make me feel this way?" I asked my husband when I got home.  He says he thinks it is.

Our first night up there happened to be a moonless clear night.  I couldn't believe my luck.  I rented a 20mm lens just for the occasion: I wanted to photograph the stars!  I rolled out of my hammock around 11:30PM, drank some water and downed some ibuprofen for a headache, and then carefully and quietly wandered the campsite with my headlamp, tripod, and camera.  The stars were absolutely incredible.  Countless stars.  The only word I can think to describe what I saw was awe-inspiring.  As the night wore on and became darker, the stars actually started reflecting off the lake water!  It was gorgeous.  I have no doubt there is a God.

Summer is in full swing over here.  We've been playing hard, sleeping in, and eating our weight in ice cream.  Summer is also proving to be the best time to capture all three of my boys and their relationship together!  The other night, I sat back on the lawn with my camera and laughed (while calling out instructions to 'be nice') as I caught these images of my children playing on our playset in the hose.  The pictures totally tell the story of my boys and their relationship as they are now.  I hope I can capture a few more frames with all three just doing their thing together this summer.  It surprisingly means a lot to me!  I sure love these three boys.

June marks the beginning of Summer!  Excited doesn't even begin to describe my feelings.  I feel like I was made to be a mother in the summer time.  The warm weather and lack of schedule means I get to play and make memories with the people I love most.  And we've already gotten a head start with baseball, trips to the park, popsicles, picnics, a little hiking, and even a camping trip.  This picture was taken at the City of Rocks after a thunderstorm.  My littlest was splashing in any and every puddle he could find while I was flipping out over the scenery.  It was a beautiful evening.  I'm looking forward to many more like it.  Bring it, Summer!

Newborn Hazel: Idaho Lifestyle Newborn Photographer
I think found my jam in lifestyle newborn photography.  I could photograph precious tiny newborn details all wrapped up in their blissful parents' arms all day, every day.  It's a sweet fleeting time in life that I personally wish I could go back and relive, sleepless nights and all!  That's why I think these kinds of photos are so important.  Babies don't keep, but a photograph does.  And with it comes sweet memories.

A special congratulations to this cute couple with their very first baby!  It was so apparent that they were not only in love with each other, but with their new addition.  What a delightful and good-looking family of three.  I can't wait to see little Hazel grow!  Thanks guys for inviting me in to your home and sharing a bit of yourselves and your beautiful life with me.

ONE is a blog circle that I have joined with several other very talented photographers. It began on my personal blog but I am moving it over here to my professional website so that I can share bits and pieces of my life with you. On the first of each month we will be sharing ONE image that spoke to our hearts from the four weeks before. It's bound to be a set of eye candy that you won't want to miss!

Life has been extra busy at our house this past month. We just finished a little house remodel. My husband discovered some DIY skills he didn't know he had by creating a new wall and closet and repainting the big boys' new bedroom. To top it off, we bought new carpet throughout the whole house! All this change has me purging and reorganizing everything. It also has me itching to update the decor in my living room. I'm ready for some fresh items that make this space feel a little more modern and like us. In the mean time, we all look a little like my youngest up there, star-fished out enjoying the soft clean new carpet!
