Fall is a great time to set up a session to commemorate that very last year of high school! I'm not sure about you, but my senior year was definitely one of my most memorable. I hope it's going just as well for this good looking kid! We explored a brand new location and even bush whacked our way through some growth for these shots, but I feel it was worth the effort. If anything, it made for a fun afternoon exploring a bit.
These two lovebirds have actually been married for a few years now, but are just as in love as the day they got married! This is the second time they asked me to take their pictures and I was delighted. They booked a mini session with me. It was the perfect amount of time to get some really cute shots with some amazing light and the perfect compromise for their young checkbook. A win-win all around. Plus, seriously, how pretty is that dress?!? I think it made the whole session.
The Jack-o-lanterns have been carved! Jed and Levi carved their very own for the first time (I'm impressed Levi didn't cut off an eyebrow or something) and Mickey Mouse was done free hand by the best dad in the world -- who does not like Halloween by the way, but humors the rest of us anyway. The boys are so excited! However, none were more excited than Conrad who, during the entire carving process, would not quit talking.
I hope you all enjoyed a fun and safe and very Happy Halloween! Wasn't that sunset last night spectacular?

Palmer Family Newborn: Southern Idaho Newborn Lifestyle Photographer
October 30, 2019 Twin Falls, ID, USA
This baby girl has four big sisters. I can only imagine what a special sisterhood they will share one day. A big thank you to the Palmer family for inviting me into your home to experience a little bit of heaven on earth!
Just one example of what can go really, really right during a mini session. Mini sessions are a short and sweet 20 minutes in front of the camera. I grab as much as I can in that small amount of time -- from a few family poses to some headshots for the walls, and sometimes a few candid snapshots as well. I find that it's fun for me as well as my clients!
This was one of those last minute squeeze-in type of sessions, but I am SO GLAD I agreed to do it. This family was absolutely the sweetest I've met in a long time. Can you just see that genuine love their little boy has for his mama?! Melt my heart to a puddle on the floor. I loved this session. These are the type of pictures I strive to make for every family because they are the type of pictures I would want.
This sweet family won the Kimberly School District auction for this session. And I am so happy they did! I couldn't help smiling and laughing while editing their entire gallery. Aren't their smiles just contagious? I am so thankful to a community and friends like this whom trust me to take their family photos.
Want to know the great thing about mini sessions? They're super short and sweet. That means 20 minutes + a little treat I keep in my bag. It was 45 degrees and whipping wind during this session but you'd never know it. These kids were such good sports and made my job easy.
Welcome Fall! I can't tell you how excited I am about wearing sweaters and watching the leaves change colors. It's here!!! Conrad and I have been going on weekly Friday morning dates to play and just be outdoors. I love having a little buddy around who genuinely likes to explore with me. Conrad is so cute and so much fun. Plus, he might even enjoy the Taco Wagon more than me! I am so grateful we have three more years together before he heads off to school.

Even families with grown children can be a blast to photograph! Here's proof. I think these siblings had a lot of fun getting together. They even tried to recreate an old photo or two! Spirits were high and the light and the background was gorgeous. It was such a smooth session and I know their mom was thrilled to get these images back.
Sometimes I like to dabble in astrophotography. We took on our boys on one last camping adventure before school started. I am so glad we did because this wound up being one of my all time favorite summer memories.
We let the boys stay up later than usual to give the stars ample time to shine. My husband Bron and I both knew the star show was going to be good, but I don't think we anticipated just how impressive it was really going to be! We lucked out with a clear and windless night and a late moon rise. Camping doesn't get any better than that! As the fire died down, we walked the boys to the tent in the middle of the grassy area and turned off the flashlights. We told the boys to look up. As our eyes adjusted to the darkness, the milky way seemed to glow brighter. Just the sheer number of stars was incredible! I think it was the first time Jed and Levi had ever truly witnessed the majesty of the night sky. They were impressed. Bron tried pointing out the little dipper and North Star to the boys, but there were just too many stars for them to really follow along. Wow!
We tucked the boys into bed and then Bron wandered the camp site with me, helping me capture a few long exposure pictures of the night sky. I forgot my tripod, but no worries. I used everything from a picnic basket to some rocks to a stick to prop my camera up just right. Improvising at its finest.

If you're looking to snag some frame worthy wedding day photos but don't have the budget to hire a wedding photographer for the entire day, please call me! That's what this couple did. We got together just a few hours before their wedding ceremony to take some pictures of just the two of them around the temple grounds. They were so giddy and happy and excited! It was hard not to be excited for them. Wishing them all the best in their new life together!
Not much makes me happier than capturing all three of my boys in the frame at once! This is them on the Fourth of July, ready for a day of fun and fireworks. They were so stoked about their new sunglasses and festive bandanas.

We took our first trip of the season to Nat Soo Pah, a local hot springs pool with a giant water slide, two diving boards, and a couple of hot soak tubs. The kids kept me hopping that day! Jed conquered his fear of heights and jumped off the high dive! Levi practiced swimming in the deep end and even did a swim test for the life guard. He still needs floaties for safety, but I think he'll be a proficient swimmer my mid-summer; we'll keep practicing. And Conrad had the time of his life careening down the water slide all by himself.
I brought my new little gopro and dome attachment to the pool. You guys, I am hooked! Underwater photography is so much fun! It's a whole new world of photography. The perspectives are different, it's colorful, and full of unpredictable splashes. I can't wait to try it again.

My opinion is that summer is the best time for photos. Case and point: look at all that soft green and yummy golden light!!! Need I say more? This family of three is one of the cutest I know. I am so happy they trusted me to take their family pictures.
Just an everyday scene from our backyard playset. My two year old requested some pushes "up to da dye" (up to the sky) from his Dad. Conrad is so funny. He thinks he swings taller than the trees because all he can see is the sky!

I'm not quite sure where to begin... except with maybe an honest but cliché phrase that we had one of the most memorable times of our lives in the land of palm trees, sun, and sea turtles: Hawaii. This photo was taken on Haleakala (Maui's 10,000+ foot elevation volcano) to see the sun set! I am so happy I brought my puffy jacket. The weather was 45 degrees and whipping wind. But oh my goodness, was it breathtaking to sit above the clouds. Wow!!!

If you live in Kimberly, Idaho then you probably know who this beautiful girl is already. She's super talented, smart, and kind. (I mean, have you heard her play the violin?) She's this sweet combination that I think most people admire.
This photo shoot was completely impromptu. I actually ran into her family in Southern Utah while on Spring Break with my own family. We talked and Grace expressed that she was hoping to get senior pictures done amidst the red rock. I wasn't about to turn down that opportunity! An amazing model and incredible scenery completely different from what I'm used to... yes, please, sign me up for the challenge! We weren't able to shoot during my preferred golden hour, but I think we worked some magic anyhow. Take a look!

Happy email morning! This photo was featured in National Geographic's Best Photos of the Week!!! My whole heart is in documenting my children and little successes like these just feel so validating.
Take a minute to read the article. The author actually talks about my image specifically. And the image of the shadow of the animal in South Africa is just AMAZING. Can't believe I get to contend with this talent.
P.S. Still doing a happy dance.
I know young men don't typically like their photos taken, but I promise to make it as quick and painless as possible. I enjoyed taking Seth's photos one evening. I especially loved the addition of those sunglasses. So much personality!
St. Patrick's Day landed on Sunday this year! My boys Jed and Levi had so much fun dressing up for church. We bought these obnoxious bow ties at Kmart the day prior. And Levi was very enthusiastic about pairing his bow tie with the cheap rainbow suspenders I found at Target. I am so proud that he had the confidence to do it. I hope he never outgrows it! (Because those older kids, man, they seem to be so self-conscious.)

One of my family's favorite things to do is to get outside and explore, even in the winter time! Okay, especially in the winter time. The fresh air just feels good. One Saturday afternoon, we snowshoed our way in to Ross Falls. I have never seen the snow so deep! As we reached the top, I just kind of slid into a hole created by the creek bed. Two minutes later, the kids were in there with me. It was really incredible to be down there surrounded by walls of snow! We had a blast but had to head back down the trail quickly once Conrad soaked himself in the creek. No worries. Conrad was all right. I hope my little boys know how much spending time with them and making memories with them means to me!

January was slow around here and that's just the way I like it. I hardly picked up my camera and pretty much ditched social media. It's been a nice break from the hustle. I feel like I was able to refocus my life on the most important things. Cheers to a new year and fresh beginnings! And also a super cute puppy who looks like she's whispering a secret into my two year old's ear.

Happy New Year! I hope 2019 finds you healthy and happy and ready to take on all the new memories and lessons the year inevitably has in store.
This is where you'll probably expect me to divulge all of my New Year's goals and resolutions, perhaps a positive word to live by, but I'm not going to do that. I try to live intentionally throughout the year and have found that course correcting month by month has been the most successful route for me. I've definitely put a few goals out there for the year, but the majority of them are tucked away on a to-do list on my phone under the title "Get R' Done: January and February". It's not the most conventional approach, but it's an approach that works for me!
Cheers to 2019! I'm already looking forward to so many fun things in my calendar. I can't wait to make some new memories with the four most handsome men in my life.
